Baby Shower Invitations. Medium: Paper

I really like paper. Like, really like it. I know there are others of you out there who find themselves drooling over the scrap book paper at the local art supply store. Or maybe you are one who sews, and you also know what I mean, only your medium is fabric. I drool over that too, but there's not that much I can do with fabric. Yet.

Anyhow, I was thrilled when I was asked to design and create some baby shower invitations this past spring: the perfect excuse to peruse the paper aisle. They weren't invitations for just anyone, mind you, but for one of my BFF's in the world! (Is it still OK to use the term BFF at the ripe old age of 29?).

No really, we've been friends since before we were born; our moms had coffee dates while we were in the womb. We grew up down the street from each other, went to school together, were in each other's weddings, etc. We live in different states now, but we still chat away for hours at the drop of a hat. And we also dream about living down the street form each other again. Oh, to relive some of those neighborhood shenanigans...

Back to the invites. She registered for some darling bedding from Pottery Barn, which I used as my inspiration, this is what I came up with:
I loved making these. I spent most nights stamping, cutting, and gluing away, while watching TLC. And when it came time to ship them off, I was sad to say goodbye.
I was able to make it to the shower though, which I didn't expect. Then, I got to meet this little sweetheart during our summer travels. I was smitten.

I can't wait to see her again, hope she doesn't grow too fast ;)

Those cards you made are really very cute and creative. Those are wonderful! Wonderful! I'd say you have quite a knack for creative stuff. And I am also jealous of your seemingly happy life, pardon me about it.
