I'm not quite sure how to bring this up, but autumn is
leaving me? I can't believe it took me this long to notice, but all the signs are there; first the leaves fell, then the frost came. Now, winter is creeping it's way in, with it's frosty mornings and freakishly dark evenings. Well, I won't have it. Not without first saying a proper goodbye anyway.
Autumn, before you go, I want to thank you for:
Leaf Piles
Afternoon Coffee with Homemade Pumpkin Cream
Family Hikes
Pumpkins (roast it, gut it, add it to everything.)
Outdoor Naps
Corn Mazes
Cider Doughnuts
It doesn't stop there.
Wish I could share more about the relationship, but it's rather personal. Plus, it's cold in here, and Winter is offering a cup of hot chocolate to warm me up. I know I shouldn't do it, let such a cold heart into my life. But maybe just
this once...
Love all of those things. Don't think I got to experience near as many of the things on your list this year-babies tend to slow you down a little bit more. Homemade pumpkin cream?? That sounds amazing.
ReplyDeleteTanya- I bet by next Autumn you will be able to cross off everything on your list and have a great time doing it! I think my favorite was the outdoor naps? There were 3 or 4 of them- I need to invest in a hammock! Here is a link to the pumpkin cream recipe
