He buys me flowers, I make him oatmeal. This is love.
Here are the keys to fabulous oatmeal that you won't find on the package instructions:
*After adding oats to boiling water, add 1 tablespoon of cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (Wait, you don't have coconut oil in your life? You need to get some in your pantry, pronto!)
*When oatmeal is done cooking, add 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, more cinnamon, dried cranberries, pecans or walnuts, and a splash of milk.
Enjoy alongside coffee and someone you love.
You make the best oatmeal ever Jerz!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that I stumbled across your blog today. I love oatmeal for breakfast. Also, I remember reading something somewhere about coconut oil being good for you, so I'll definitely have to try it your way. It really sounds interesing. I make steel cut oatmeal most mornings. I usually just add 2 teaspoons of flaxseeds, then either blueberries or strawberries. Thanks for the tip and have a great day.

Thanks, Dee! I really like steel cut oats, they have such a nutty flavor. I prefer them too, but I only buy them f they are on sale because they are more expensive and only come in small containers (I eat a lot of oatmeal :)
